Third weekend in July 2021. The Hardanger Fiddle Association of America held its annual workshop online, with instruction and celebration of the music and dance of the Hardanger fiddle. Thursday, July 22 through Sunday, July 25, 2021.  See the Facebook page of the HFAA for more information.

June 11, 12, and 13, 2021. The Nisswa-stämman Finale was held online. The Twin Cities Hardingfelelag joined many other groups in playing online. See the videos at: http://www.nisswastamman.org/stamma/2021links.html

Third weekend in July, 2020.
The annual workshop of the Hardanger Fiddle Association of America, the HFAA, has been cancelled. Instead there was an HFAA Online Festival, an online celebration of the music and dance of the Hardanger fiddle, Thursday, July 16th through Sunday, July 19th. Check the Facebook page of the HFAA for more information.

June 12 and 13, 2020
The twenty-first (and final) Nisswa-stämman Scandinavian music festival was scheduled to take place in Nisswa, Minnesota. It was postponed to June 11 and 12, 2021, but but many musicians in Scandinavia recorded performances, and those are available on YouTube.

Nordic Ball. Ukrainian Event Center, Minneapolis. For more than forty years, the Nordic Ball has been an annual tradition of the Nordic Folk Music and Dance communities in the Twin Cities. Different dance groups in the Twin Cities—Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, and Finnish—take turns hosting. In 2019 it was up to the Norwegians! Dances included waltz, polka, schottische/reinlender, gangar, pols, polska, and springar. There was a buffet of Norwegian essentials such as herring and lefse and a cash bar serving Nordic-inspired cocktails.
